Statement by Steven Fletcher on the passing of former Manitoba Premier Duff roblin
Member of Parliament for Charleswood-St. James-Assiniboia, Steven Fletcher, issued the following statement today on the passing of former Manitoba Premier Duff Roblin:
“I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former Premier of Manitoba Duff Roblin. I would like to extend my sincere condolences to Duff’s family.
“Duff’s commitment to the people of Manitoba and his contributions to the province as the Premier will always be appreciated and respected. His vision of building a floodway around Winnipeg is just on of many influential accomplishments Duff made to Manitoba and is a significant part of his legacy.
“Duff was Leader of the Government in the Senate, a former Federal Cabinet Minister and former federal leadership contestant for the Progressive Conservatives in 1967. He is the best Premier Manitoba has had and is the best Prime Minister Canada never had. ”
