Remembrance Day
November 10, 2009
Winnipeg, Manitoba - The Honourable Steven Fletcher, Member of Parliament for Charleswood-St. James-Assiniboia, issued the following Remembrance Day statement: “Remembrance Day is a time when Canadians across the country join together in a moment of silence, honouring our country’s great heroes for their courage and devotion. “We pay tribute to the soldiers who defended Canada in past wars as well as the men and women who are currently standing guard in foreign countries defending the democratic rights and freedoms we in Canada benefit from each day. “I want to thank all members of our armed forces, past and present, for defending the freedoms we are blessed with today. I encourage all Canadians to participate in their local Remembrance Day services tomorrow and take a moment to remember.” |
